About People's Postcode Trust
People’s Postcode Trust is a charity registered in Scotland, No. SC040387 and is a company limited by guarantee (356549). It is a grant giving Trust, awarding funding to good causes that support a better world for people and planet.
People’s Postcode Trust operates its own society lottery regulated by the Gambling Commission under certificate 000-018971-N-302359-007 and 000-018971-R-302358-007.
People’s Postcode Trust achieves its objectives through funds receives from its society lottery, operated by its External Lottery Manager, Postcode Lottery Ltd (marketed as People’s Postcode Lottery).
Funding is available for projects of up to 6 months in length ranging from £500 up to £10,000 in Scotland and England, and up to £5,000 in Wales. All funding decisions are made by an independent board of Trustees.
Funding will be awarded to projects with one or more of the following aims:
- prevention of poverty
- promote, maintain, improve and advance health
- advance citizenship or community development
- advance public participation in sport
- promote, improve and advance human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation
- promote and advance environmental protection or improvement
Registered charities in Scotland, Merseyside and Greater Manchester can apply for up to £100,000 to run a 12-month project that they have always dreamed of but never had the opportunity to bring to life
Funding will be awarded to projects that meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Encouraging Active Living
- Bringing Communities Together
- Tackling Climate Change
- Expanding Life Opportunities
The Dream Fund is closed for applications and will open again later in 2013.
How we are funded
People’s Postcode Trust receives all of its funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. 45p from every £2 ticket goes to charity, and to date over £20 million has been raised for good causes in Great Britain. Since we were established in 2009, People’s Postcode Trust has distributed £5.83 million to over 990 charity projects across the country.
