PROJECT DETAILS
82nd Inverleith (Cramond) Sea Scouts applied for funding with which to purchase various new items of sailing equipment. This included life jackets, wetsuits, kayaks and paddles.
The 82nd Inverleith (Cramond) Scout Group began life in 1944 as the 32nd Midlothian. The Scout Group is open to all boys between the ages of 6 and 15, and adults of either sex. Water based activity for the Scout’s had been put on hold after a previous boat had been destroyed by vandals. Following intensive fundraising the boat was replaced – but the group still needed to purchase the equipment necessary to offer a full programme of activities.
The purchase of new sailing equipment through People’s Postcode Trust funding has provided the group with the opportunity to offer water based sports such as kayaking.
