PROJECT DETAILS

An “After School” project for 200 children aged 7-12 from schools in the local area. Skating is used as a hook to attract young people to take part in youth work activities and educational projects which include homework support clubs.

The Factory Skatepark is a project which uses the attraction of extreme sports of skateboarding, inline blading and bmxing as a vehicle to engage with young people. Last year the Factory ran a successful pilot programme in a number of schools which has now been extended thanks to funding from People’s Postcode Trust. Skatepark head Derek Marshall said “Seeing our participants gain confidence as they progress is a key highlight of the programme. Thank
you for helping make these activities possible and helping to impact many young lives in a positive way.”
