The Bike Station with Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust

Inflating the Inner Tube – awarded £98,100

BikeStation

This Edinburgh based project has created a London Underground-style map of the 70 miles of off-street cycle ways and paths that reach right into the city centre, with the aim of increasing the number of people walking and cycling for commuting and recreation. The funding is being used for the conservation and rejuvenation of the currently neglected pathways, and to implement a visible and intuitive signage system.

RBGE

This project is a community-focused project aimed at promoting growing and eating healthy food, with a team of volunteers who provide support and mentoring for people who want to grow their own vegetables, salads and fruits but lack basic horticultural skills. The Demonstration Garden at the Botanics has been transformed into a number of vegetable plots and fruit-growing areas for practical gardening experience.
