PROJECT DETAILS

The Bambury Centre, based in Glasgow, encourages young people to leave behind their participation in gangs, and provide them with the life skills and training they perhaps missed out on.

The Bambury felt that this type of education should start with young children, ideally at nursery age – and along came Babakoochi Bear. The children learn through the bear, and write letters to him. One of the key themes that came from these letters was a lack of outdoor space for the children to play in.

The People’s Postcode Trust provided the Babakoochi Bear Children’s Land with £8,500, allowing a fantastic secure garden for the children of the Bambury centre to play in, learn about growing flowers and vegetables, and learn about working together.
