Our trustees
Postcode Trust was established in 2009 and is governed by an independent board of trustees. The trustees are also responsible for making all funding decisions.
David Sharrod
David has been the Director of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) since 1997, a charity which supports the well-being of that special area. He is also a Trustee of Cumbria Wildlife Trust. His passions include wildlife, fell-walking and teaching his two Grandsons all about surrounding nature.
Hannah Woods
Hannah is a social researcher with a 20-year track record of supporting organisational change and impact programmes in the voluntary sector. Her work has focused on measuring the impact of programmes supporting young people and marginalised groups including people with a disability, single parents, refugees, and people experiencing homelessness.
Hannah has worked with grant-making organisations including Nesta, Money Advice and Pension Service, and the National Lottery, and vInspired. She recently relocated back to Wales and spoke at the 2021 Welsh Council for Voluntary Action’s annual conference.
Rahul Bissoonauth
Rahul has led strategy and fundraising projects for hundreds of diverse-led organisations and charities tackling inequalities in Birmingham, across the UK and around the world. Clients have included the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, Sporting Equals, the Lawn Tennis Association, UEFA, the Coalfields Regeneration Trust, and several other award-winning organisations. Rahul is an experienced charity sector leader, holding executive and board-level positions at the Football Foundation, Oaks Consultancy, the Big Issue Invest Impact Growth Fund and formerly at Magic Bus.
Gareth Hill
Gareth is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and has more than 30 years experience of financial management & reporting gained through working in universities, further education colleges, charities and private health. He is retired, having previously been employed as a Finance Professional within the Scottish Civil Service.
John Robson
John has over 15 years’ experience collaborating with a range of communities in the UK and abroad. He is an experienced grant maker, project manager and programme leader, with particular focus on community development. John previously led the People’s Postcode Lottery Community Programmes team overseeing three charitable trusts supporting grassroots projects across the UK. Earlier in his career, John spent six years in London engaging with and awarding grant funding to a range of charities, community groups and other third sector partners. In his current role, he oversees the strategic partnerships programme at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London.
